Seeking the Chwezi

The deities are not in the lakes and forests
The deities are not in the clouds nor fires
The deities have entered the rocks and stones
And only by careful invocation and revelation
Shall we once more open the gates of stone
And set free into the air, water and fire
Those sleeping ancients, whose meditations, wisdom and magic
Are preserved with their regalia and art
In the rocks and caves of prehistory,
So that archeology is the foremost science of the seeker of the ancients
Seek and preserve thy rocks and stones.

Abachwezi tibali munyanja n'ebibira
Abachwezi tibali omumbeho ninga omumuro
Abachwezi bakataha omukibale n'amabale
Okwihaho abo abategekerwe, kandi baina orumanyo rwabu,
Nibo abarasobora okwata enyigi z'ekibale-
Aho nu, abachwezi baimuke omumbeho, omunyanja n'omumuro.
Abachwez'abo, abagonere namagezi g'ensi n'iguru,
Omumabale okurugira kimu Kibale paka omunyanja enu Nalubale-
Baserekerwe, kandi balinzirwe emyaka n'ebisibo kuruga okubanza.
Abachwezi Ndahura, Mulindwa na Wamara mbaimukize mukiro ekyange,
Na tunga okumanya okwembaganiza, nti esaha y'omulimo gwange ehikire.
Aho nu, naiywe mukwate engoma, mukwate ensekuro n'emisekuzo,
Mugende mwimukye abachwezi banyu, esaha yanyu etakarabire.
